djKC Productions: A Musical Journey from NYC to the Airwaves
Born and raised in New York City, my passion for music began early, shaped by the sounds of legendary artists like The Latin Rascals, Louie Vega, Tony Humphries, and David Morales to name a few. In 1981, I invested in my first setup: Technics turntables, a small Gemini mixer, and some GemSound speakers. I started by creating mixtapes, then moved on to DJing small house parties, Sweet Sixteens, and weddings. My musical style evolved from Hip Hop and Freestyle to what is now known as House music.

While I frequented iconic clubs like 10:18, The Underground, The Saint, The Tunnel, and Studio 54 to admire DJs like Jose "The Animal" Diaz and Jellybean, and those I mentioned above. I didn't get the chance to play in clubs myself. Instead, I landed a part-time job at Sleeping Bag / Fresh Records during high school, which introduced me to many key players in the music industry. However, life took over, and my DJ aspirations were put on hold. I graduated HS and started my adulthood early..lol. Had a family of my own.

In 2017, my older brother Ken Wood encouraged me to get back into the game. I submitted a mix to DwildMusicRadio, and after several of my mixes aired, DJ / Producer Duce Martinez offered me my own time slot. That March, "Rockin' the Beats" was born. This opportunity allowed me to showcase my talents at various events across New York and New Jersey. In 2018, I was even invited to play a set in San Antonio, Texas, thanks to Dalian Studio’s DJ Jason Rios and GatchaVega’s DJ Gene Santiago. I made the tough decision to switch stations due to some conflicts of interests and join VeteranSquadRadio, a move I believed was right for the next phase of my musical journey. After a number of guest DJ spots here and there and 5 years later 2025 I parted ways with VSR on a high note and settled down with Goodie Music. Now live video streaming which is something I’d never thought I’d get into but having a great time with it. Goodie Music has become a staple In my next chapter.
